                            Selu,
I just had to say thank you again for your kindness and generosity!  Masen is so proud of his fish hook.. He has stepped up in making good choices when his friends are being a bit challenging.  I believe you acted as an angel that day and we are truly grateful.  Ethan also loves his turtle and it fits his personality.  as does the coyote tooth for Colton- his "special needs" keep us all guessing and smiling-  at least trying to.

                            May God Bless you.
                            With Love,

"thank u again for all you are doing. my mother was amazed at the work you and your wife do. not only has the Lord blessed you with such artistic talent, but the spirit in which you exude your work is what captures and touches the deepest part of our spirits. it draws us in and that's a beautiful thing".

                            Aloha and Talofa Selu!

"It was cold morning in Boulder, Colorado on September 18th, 2010.  At the time I was on a two game road trip with my family following the University of Hawai'i Warrior football team.  I was roaming around a mall nearby our hotel and not far from Colorado University's stadium.  It was a Hawaiian Cultural Day as the day celebrated among many things I'm sure that were going on at CU...the football game between UH and CU.  I came across a tent from a shop called Island Kine Art and a man named Selu.

The carving that Selu had made and I had purchased from him was a Maori tiki.  It was perfect because for about 4 years I have been attached to Maori culture being from the islands of Hawai'i.

From my research over the years I've come to the understanding that the tilted head represents wisdom, and that the wearer possesses clarity of thought, loyalty, great inner knowledge and strength of character. I am very loyal and was brought up with great values and hope to live up to the examples and standards given to me. I also hope that these characteristics given to me by my family, and the reminder of these characteristics through the tiki will help me through the barriers that I face.

It was great receiving this gift from Selu and it was great meeting the man who carved this piece and shared it and it's mana with me.

                            Check out his work!"

                            God bless you!

                            Bone Carving Art Reviews

                            Selu,

Words cannot express how greatful we are for the beautiful artwork you created for our home. It is not just art! You added depth and meaning into the art pieces that WE BELIEVE IT IS WHO WE ARE. We feel that you were truly inspired with our artwork.

We especially appreciated the converstaions we had. Through our converstaions you listened and were able to envision our families journey and included its past, present and our future. We were impressed with how you included our Tongan and Tahitian cultures and brought it into one. We loved the koru and its definitions of strength, prosperity, abundace and leadership which is what my family stands for. We love the mothers tail wind and how she is the stregth that can help guide my family (canoe) in their journey through the oceans mist of darkness. We love the presence of the male and how it stands as a leader, protector & provider. There is so much definition in the art work I cannot write it all.

We have already recieved several compliments. Your art work strikes up meaningful converstaions in our home. You have contributed so much beauty to our home we cannot wait to work with you again. Thank you for a job well done and we want you to know we are completely satisfied!

                            Selu,
Just a note to tell you about the piece you made for me just under a year ago.  If you don't remember, it's a bone carving which I wear on my wrist.  You carved the initials of my son who passed away in 2005.  I haven't taken it off since I received it.  It reminds me of him each time I look at it, which is often.  When people comment on it, it gives me the chance to talk about him and remember the great young man that he was.  It is a true artist that can create something that not only looks beautiful, but becomes one with the wearer.
                            Thank you again,

                            Kind Regards,
                            Tres Ferrin

Thank you so much for your inspired work. It was a pleasure to have purchased a piece for each one of my family members from you this past weekend. we've been looking for this kind of unique artwork that we can feel totally connected to. we love the stories and the history behind the art. Keep up the good work and we look forward to purchasing more pieces in the future.

                            Sincerely,
                            Roshman Family
